This role is responsible for leading the analysis and review of the monthly accounting close process and assisting with the timely and accurate preparation of branch-level financial statements. Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Accounting Supervisor:
– Direct general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements.
– Prepare, record, analyze and report accounting transactions and ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.
– Review, create and post journal entries. Prepare and review monthly balance sheet account analyses for assigned areas of responsibility.
– Direct financial support and analyze variations from budget and trend.
– Supervise the work of others, including planning, assigning and scheduling work, reviewing work and ensuring quality standards, training staff and overseeing productivity.
Required Skills for Accounting Supervisor:
– Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with 5+ years of direct related experience.
– Good written and verbal communication skills. Intermediate to excellent skill level in Microsoft Excel.
– Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and FASB regulations and procedures. Ability to formulate policy and document processes and procedures.
– Demonstrated ability to create, organize and maintain Excel spreadsheets and Word documents.
– Must demonstrate initiative, leadership, and the ability to communicate effectively. Possess strong work ethic and commitment to completing responsibilities.
