We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our thriving mortgage industry team. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to oversee and manage all aspects of our accounting operations. The successful candidate will be a key player in our financial management team, collaborating closely with senior management to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities:
As an Accounting Supervisor, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and utilities.
2. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, reporting any variances to the executive team.
3. Ensuring the company's financial reports comply with state and federal regulations and laws.
4. Collaborating with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
5. Developing and implementing accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes for improvements.
6. Evaluating and making appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization.
7. Mentoring and coaching accounting staff to ensure their ongoing skill development and growth.
8. Participating in strategic data analysis, research, and modeling for senior company leadership.
9. Ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all of our accounting tasks.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. A Master's degree or CPA certification is a plus.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial accounting role, preferably in the mortgage or real estate industry.
3. Extensive knowledge of the lending process, mortgage industry, and real estate market.
4. Proficiency in accounting software, data analysis, and financial reporting tools.
5. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to mentor and develop staff.
6. Strong understanding of tax codes, regulations, and laws related to the mortgage industry.
7. Exceptional analytical skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
10. Ability to strategize and solve problems.
11. Strong time management and organizational skills.
