Job Title: Accounting Technician
Location: Shaw AFB, SC (Onsite)
Overview: Teksouth is seeking an Accounting Technician with an Active Secret Clearance to provide comprehensive financial support to our client at Shaw Air Force Base. In this role, you will conduct financial analysis, Air Force accounting, funds control, vendor payments, and collaborate with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS). You will also assist with financial reviews, reporting, and quality assurance across standard and local systems.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Provide full scope accounting support, including general ledger accounting, accounts receivable, financial reporting, funds control, budget analysis, and customer service.
+ Monitor, process, track, verify, and reconcile military and travel pay transactions, identifying abnormalities and recommending adjustments.
+ Analyze and reconcile current and prior year accounting transactions to ensure compliance with USAF, DoD, and Federal financial regulations.
+ Offer technical guidance to deployed finance personnel, resolving processing issues. Utilize DEAMS, DJMS, and DTS systems to input, query, extract, and analyze data.
+ Work closely with funds control and vendor pay teams, and serve as a liaison to DFAS.
+ Perform financial reviews and reporting, supporting various accounting activities and processing centers.
+ Assist in formal Air Force fund reviews, such as Tri-Annual Reviews, Commitment Reviews, Accounts Receivable Reviews, and Travel Tri-Annual Reviews.
+ Provide automated files and listings to Resource Managers (RMs) to validate commitments, unliquidated obligations, and receivables.
+ Facilitate the validation of fund records, identifying and correcting discrepancies in commitments or obligations.
+ Match disbursements to obligations, identifying and resolving inaccuracies in fund records and balances.
+ Process adjustments and corrections as identified and justified by RMs.

Qualifications:
+ Active DoD Secret security clearance is required.
+ A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, or equivalent professional experience/certifications in lieu of a degree.
+ Preferred experience in Air Force Financial Management/Accounting.
+ Familiarity with accounting/financial systems, including CRIS, DJMS, DTS, DEAMS, GAFS/BQ, IAPS, WAWF, FMSuite, ABSS, and others.
+ Strong organizational skills, self-motivated, with excellent problem-solving, documentation, research, data analysis, and multitasking abilities.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees and vendors.
