Accounts Payable Clerk - The PAR Group

The PAR Group, a fourth-generation, privately owned and operated company since 1928, is New York's preeminent provider of plumbing, heating & air conditioning, fire protection and green solution services. We have an immediate opening for anAccounts Payable Clerkto work in the active Accounting Department in our Lynbrook, NY office. This position will perform various accounting clerical tasks such as filing, entering invoices, reconciling invoices to statements, and preparing monthly vendor checks.

Primary job functions

• Establish and maintain files as directed by supervisor for payroll, accounts payable and general accounting documents.
• Compare vendor/subcontractor invoices to purchase orders or contracts to verify quantities, price, payment terms, freight charges, extensions, etc. Compute discounts, make sales/use tax determinations and place invoices in line for payment.
• Maintain records on equipment rental, assist with invoice preparation and invoice distribution.
• Prepare various daily, weekly, monthly, annual and job to date reports.
• Print and process checks as needed.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Requirements

• High School business, bookkeeping and typing courses
• Some clerical experience is desirable
• Experience with Timberline and Excel is highly desirable
