A growing residential real estate company in Baltimore, Maryland is seeking a qualified Accounts Payable Manager on a hybrid basis.
Job Duties
- Manage accounts payable functions of the organization, which includes overseeing staff charged with handling all aspects of the accounts payable process. Manager is in charge of ensuring all payments are recorded accurately and timely.
- Prepare certain periodic reconciliations as required.
- Support the VP Finance in driving process efficiencies in daily tasks, in the identification of process improvements through automation and in the cross training of employees.
- Ensure a robust internal control environment is supported through the daily responsibilities. This includes maintaining various sections of the corporate accounting manual and other process or control documentation.
- Effective management of corporate finance staff, as discussed below.
- Supervise up to four employees.
Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
- Minimum 5-7+ years' accounting experience with at least 3-5 years' experience with accounts payable strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years supervisory management experience preferred.
- Must possess strong financial, analytical, organizational, and quantitative skills, and ability to coordinate complex activities, prioritize conflicting demands and meet deadlines with a quality, accurate work product.
- Must be highly motivated, be able to work independently and possess strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Proficient with Excel and Word and ability to quickly learn new software and systems required.
- Experience with accounting systems required, experience with Workday and Yardi preferred.
