Accounts Payable/Payroll Manager - Blackfoot, ID
​The Accounts Payable/Payroll Manager is responsible for all activities within the Disbursements Services team, including the accounts payable and operational payroll functions.
During the training period, s/he would likely work full-time in the office. After the training period, the position is partially remote, subject to business needs. Currently, the expected schedule would be 2 days working in the office and 3 days working from home each week.
Essential Job Duties:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of accounts payable and payroll professionals, ensuring clear communication, performance management, and continuous professional development.
- Delegate tasks, set performance goals, and foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Oversee the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, employee expense reports, operational payroll, and other financial transactions, ensuring compliance with Company policies.
- Resolve discrepancies and disputes with vendors promptly, ensuring smooth transaction processing.
- Continuously evaluate and improve accounts payable and payroll processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Identify opportunities for workflow automation, implement best practices, and leverage technology to streamline operations.
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, human resources, and other departments to ensure accurate and seamless processing of financial transactions.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure employee pay is in accordance with Union contracts and employee handbooks.
- Assume the lead for key payroll related projects including implementation of new pay related regulations and pay codes as well as the implementation of internal policies and procedures.
We're Looking for Someone With:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; a minimum of 5-7 years of related experience in the accounts payable and payroll functions; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- People management experience strongly preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage high transaction volumes with precision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of implementing effective solutions to financial challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors, colleagues, and management.
- Experience with process improvement initiatives, automation solutions, and driving operational efficiencies is highly desirable.
- Advanced experience with ERP general ledger software, as well as intermediate experience using Microsoft Excel.
