Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join this Finance team in Elkhart, IN. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, including processing vendor invoices, reconciling accounts, and preparing payments. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices, including matching invoices to purchase orders, coding them to the correct general ledger accounts, and preparing payments.
- Set up and update vendor information as needed.
- Communicate with vendors and team members to resolve any accounts payable issues and answer related questions.
- Reconcile specific assigned accounts payable balances to ensure accuracy and address discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end close tasks and prepare relevant reports and reconciliations.
- Maintain organized records and ensure all supporting documentation is properly filed.
- Support other accounting and finance tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two years of experience in accounts payable or a related role is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and general ledger systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
