Our client is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the company's accounts payable function. This role ensures that all invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner, maintains vendor relationships, and supports the finance team in managing financial transactions. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities for Accounts Payable Specialist:
- Invoice Processing: Receive, review, and verify invoices for accuracy and completeness. Match invoices to purchase orders and receipts. Process invoices for payment according to company policies and procedures.
- Vendor Management: Maintain and update vendor records. Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve any discrepancies. Ensure timely and accurate payment to vendors.
- Payment Processing: Prepare and process accounts payable checks, ACH payments, and electronic transfers. Monitor payment schedules and cash flow to ensure timely payments.
- Expense Reporting: Review and process employee expense reports. Ensure compliance with company policies and proper documentation.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts payable transactions and statements. Resolve any discrepancies or issues that arise.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation as required.
- Reporting: Assist with generating reports related to accounts payable and other financial data as needed.
Qualifications for Accounts Payable Specialist:
- Education: Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role. Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Knowledge: Familiarity with accounting principles and practices. Understanding of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements.
