The George E. Booth Co. is a family-owned and operated industrial automation sales company looking to hire their next full-time Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team.
The George E. Booth Co. is a major distributor of process instrumentation products and related services to customers in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee. Founded in 1963, George E. Booth Sr. recognized that there would be a natural evolution in the development of products for the industrial instrumentation process field.
In addition to excellent computer and communication skills, including written and verbal, the ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and organizational abilities, analytical skills and will work well in a team environment.
All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
· Process outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
· Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
· Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly documented
· Verify and investigate discrepancies by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
· Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients
· Generate reports detailing accounts payables status
· Understand expense accounts, inventory and cost centers
· Understands compliance issues around accounts payable processes (W-9, sales tax, etc.)
Requirements and skills
· Proven working experience as Accounts Payable Clerk
· Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
· Familiarity with Doc Star Software system and have an understanding of the accounting side of ERP software systems
· Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
· Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
· Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
· Proficiency in English and in MS Office
· High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
· Experience in distribution accounting
· BSc degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
