KBW has partnered with a rapidly growing client near Portland, Maine in their search for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. This person would be responsible for full cycle accounts payable processing, create necessary accounts payable related journal entries and communicate with vendors on AP related discrepancies. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent accounting graduate with prior accounting internships or experience or an accounting candidate with 1+ years of full cycle, accounts payable experience,  looking to join a well renowned employer in the greater Portland area.

The responsibilities for the Accounts Payable Specialist will include:

• Full Cycle Accounts Payable processing, matching to purchase orders/non-purchase order invoices
• Communicate directly with vendors on AP related discrepancies, research and resolve vendor questions and payment timelines
• Maintaining and updating vendor accounts
• Assisting with AP month end close duties 
• Assist with monthly expense report processing 
• 1099 preparation

The ideal candidate for the Accounts Payable Specialist should have the following experience:

• Minimum Associates Degree, Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
• 1+ years of full cycle AP experience
• Experience using larger ERP systems (Great Plains, Netsuite, SAP, etc.)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Intermediate Excel skills required 

Compensation: $20.00-$25.00/hr DOE
