We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our thriving construction company. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the financial health of our company by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, managing vendor relationships, and collaborating with project managers to ensure accurate financial reporting. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
1. Process and verify high volumes of invoices, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
2. Maintain vendor files, including W-9 and 1099 forms, and manage vendor relationships.
3. Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate financial reporting and budgeting.
4. Prepare and submit sales tax reports, and ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations.
5. Manage year-end reporting tasks, including the preparation of 1099 forms.
6. Utilize Viewpoint Vista software to enhance and streamline accounting processes.
7. Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
8. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing excellent customer service and resolving any issues promptly and professionally.
9. Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounts payable role, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
4. Experience with Viewpoint Vista or similar accounting software.
5. Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
6. Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
7. Understanding of sales tax regulations and experience with year-end reporting, including 1099 forms.
8. Ability to handle high volumes of invoices and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. A proactive approach to work, with the ability to anticipate needs and take initiative.
