Accounts Payable Specialist - Robert Half

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Tacoma, Washington. This role is situated within the hardware store industry, demanding an adept understanding of accounting functions and accounts payable procedures. The position requires on-site presence, involving meticulous data entry and handling of payable accounts across multiple stores. Responsibilities: - Ensure accurate and prompt entering of payable data from Monday to Wednesday, followed by diligent research. - Carry out continuous follow-ups to ensure all tasks are completed on time and accurately. - Maintain meticulous records for 10 different stores, ensuring the data is logged correctly for each entity. - Perform cross General Ledger tasks, ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date. - Handle the responsibility of cutting checks, requiring a keen attention to detail. - On Thursdays, focus on matching transactions to ensure the accuracy of financial records. - Manage the filing of all relevant documents on Fridays, preparing for the new week. - Use Microsoft Excel to update spreadsheets as part of your routine duties. - Reconcile Accounts Payable ledger by pulling reports and making comparisons to ensure accuracy. - Display a detail-oriented approach, asking questions when necessary for clarity and accuracy. Requirements - Proficiency in Accounting Functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and General Ledger - Experience in Accrual Accounting, Automated Clearing House (ACH) processes, and Auditing - Ability to manage accounts for Multiple Entities - Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations - Expertise in entering Vendor Invoices - Proficiency in using accounting software and systems - Excellent communication and organizational skills - Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred - Prior experience in a similar role would be beneficial.
