Accounts Receivable Specialist - IES Communications

Job Summary:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist coordinates the timely and accurate processing of customer payments and deposits to the bank. The AR Specialist is organized, and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize, work independently and maintain a professional/friendly demeanor.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process and post daily deposits to the appropriate customer account and invoices, ensuring reconciliation of the batch.
- Prepare daily bank deposits.
- Deposit live checks received in the office to appropriate bank account.
- Interface with bank and resolve any batch or returned check issues.
- Analyze customer accounts at the time of application for any skipped or partial payments, or customer errors, remitting information to collections immediately to resolve any remittance discrepancies.
- Handle customer receivable inquiries internally and externally.
- Flag and communicate any invoicing or credit memo errors identified when applying remittances to billing department.
- Interface with billing to analyze deductions and credits in customer accounts, identifying items to follow-up with customer and items requiring potential write-off.
- Assist with month-end and year closings and will be required to prepare various reports.
- Assist with Auditor requests for various audits – internal and external.
- Conduct credit checks on all new customers, establish and manage limits with Controller, set up customer accounts in Spectrum.
- Assist other members of accounting staff with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:
- Must possess at least a High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years general office or accounting experience.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and general accounting software and have strong typing/data entry skills.
- Must be proficient in ten key by touch.
