What's your day like?
As the Accounts Payable Supervisor at HME Specialists in Albuquerque, you will oversee the full cycle of accounts payable duties, ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. This role involves organizational responsibilities such as executing weekly AP disbursements, processing ACH/EFT payments, and managing accounts payable files using Sage/Intacct and Stampli. You'll also be responsible for training and mentoring the AP staff, fostering an environment of growth and professionalism. Personal responsibilities include reviewing all invoices for accurate documentation, maintaining vendor files, and addressing inquiries. Additionally, you will prepare weekly AP aging reports, process employee credit card expenses, and manage 1099 processing at year-end.
By developing procedures for accounts payable and implementing best practices, you will ensure compliance with company guidelines while contributing to a customer-centric environment. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and innovate in the accounts payable department.

A minimum of five years of managerial experience in accounts payable is essential, along with a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with accounting software, particularly Sage/Intacct, is preferred, alongside proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, especially intermediate Excel skills for creating formulas. Understanding standard office equipment operations and clerical procedures is crucial for managing records effectively.
Additionally, successful candidates must exhibit problem-solving abilities, empathy, and a commitment to adherence to company policies and SOPs. This role requires regular sitting and frequent use of computer monitors and keyboards, making effective communication skills necessary for both team collaboration and vendor inquiries.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

- • At least 5 years of AP Managerial experience overseeing an AP staff
- • Knowledge of accounting standards

- • Experienced and skilled in general ledger account reconciliations
- • Knowledge of accounting software
- Sage/Intacct preferred
- • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required and ability to create formulas
- • Knowledge of operation of standard office equipment
- • Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and recordkeeping
