SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT
Under general direction of the Accounting Manager, the Accounts Payable Technician is responsible for processing payments to outside vendors and suppliers, as well as District employees and students, and providing related customer service. Daily work is completed in accordance with District policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. In a timely manner, process and input information for payments to vendors, suppliers, and employees through an electronic accounts payable system. Ensure appropriate tax rate is applied, if applicable.
2. In a timely manner, identify and match purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documents as required to process payments. Review for and reconcile all discrepancies.
3. Research and respond to inquiries from vendors, suppliers, employees, and students regarding payments.
4. Prepare reports and summaries as required.
5. Establish and maintain quality customer service with vendors, District staff, and community members.
6. Process and disburse warrants in accordance with District policy and procedures.
7. Maintain an alpha-numeric filing system. Purge filing system at end of each year; transfer records to archives in accordance with District policy and state statute.
8. Coordinate work with other District offices as required.
9. Perform related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. One (1) year of recent successful experience with electronic accounting systems.
3. A vocational school certificate in accounting may substitute for the experience requirement.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting practices.
2. Knowledge of electronic accounting systems and reports.
3. Knowledge of basic mathematics including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
4. Ability to work in a high-paced, high-volume environment with the ability to multi-task.
5. Ability to learn District accounts payable policies and procedures.
6. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers, District staff, students, and the public within a diverse environment.
7. Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks and perform well under pressure.
8. Ability to accurately and efficiently keyboard and 10-key by touch.
9. Ability to adapt to changing technologies.
10. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
11. Ability to incorporate interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bookkeeping certificate or AA degree in accounting.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a normal office environment. Frequent interruptions, some noise, and normal amounts of dust are part of the job. Ability to bend, stretch, twist, walk, and reach requiring ordinary physical effort, listen closely, and ordinary skill and speed in using fingers, hands, and limbs are required. Ability to lift 20 pounds.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Employment with Clover Park School District is conditional pending completion of a Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint background check as required by RCW28A.400.303. (NOTE: All associated background check fees are the employee’s responsibility.) The fingerprint scan must be completed prior to the first day of employment.
