We are looking for a skilled Accounts Receivable Specialist to provide oversight of the billing operations and processing accounts receivable functions. This position will provide financial, administrative, and clerical services within the accounts receivable function. Accounts receivable duties include ensuring accuracy and efficiency of operations, processing and monitoring incoming payments, and securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Manage day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivables data.
- Manage bills, invoices, cash receipts, credit memos and bank deposits.
- Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Manage and verify discrepancies and resolve clients’ billing issues.
- Manage payment of invoices due by sending past due reminders and arranging payment expectations
- Communicate with previous clients and customers to request payments.
- Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status.
- Maintain documented standard operating procedures for all core functions.
Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven working experience as accounts receivable clerk, accounts receivable manager or accountant.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Data entry skills along with ability to analyze large sets of data.
- Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software, also familiar with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transmissions,
- Factored experience with CIT, BB&T or Rosenthal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven reliability and dependability in fulfilling job responsibilities and commitments.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance in previous roles.
Education/Experience
- BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
- Three-Five years of accounting experience involving billing, accounts receivable, etc. is a must!
