Position: Accounts Receivable Clerk

Summary:
Records payments to customers' accounts and maintains accounts receivable records by performing the following duties.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
• Enters finalized cash receipts and updates accounts receivable ledger by customer.
• Prepares and circulates status report of customer orders on hold.
• Follow up with customers to ensure past-due payments are received.
• Makes daily contacts to customers with past due invoices/accounts.
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
• Obtains and mails invoice copies for customers, as requested.
• Processes daily credit card deposits.
• Files check stubs and bank receipts.
• Researches and processes customer claims of invoice payment.
• Researches and processes charge backs, returns, and bad checks.
• Answers accounts receivable phone inquiries and follows up.
• Calls and/or mails correspondence to customers as necessary in order to update accounts.
• Assists with related special projects, as required.
• Is consistently at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.
• Other duties as assigned
Supervision:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Other Skills:
High school diploma or (GED); and one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of accounting software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
- Experience with VLOOKUP as well as Pivot Tables Preferred.
