Poudre Infusion Therapy is located at 915 Centre Ave. Suite #3, Fort Collins, CO, and provides home and alternate site health care services.
We are accepting applications for a Medical Pre-Authorization Specialist/Billing Assistant available to work:
*Full Time
*8 am to 5 pm
*Monday to Friday
Medical Pre-Authorization Specialist/Billing Assistant Summary-Provide accurate and complete data collection/input for precertification requests, and assist Billing Coordinator with billing charges and co-pay assistance programs and maintain compliance with regulatory guidelines and payer requirements while providing excellent customer service.
Job Responsibilities:
*Responsible for verification of medical benefits for new and existing patients of Poudre Infusion Therapy
*Assists in obtaining clinical data/physician's orders/authorization for infusion services for initiation of care and re-authorization of services
*Inputs/updated patient record when Poudre Infusion Therapy is referred a new patient.
*Updates the patient/triage RN/Physicians office with both concise verbal and written information related to the medical records needed for obtaining the authorization.
*Ability to track the authorization from start to finish including appeals and following up on denials as needed.
*Perform billing review to ensure all authorizations are in place prior to sending to the biller.
*Willing to be a patient advocate.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Read, interpret, and effectively communicate information from insurance documents, electronic medical records, patient charts.
Effective verbal and written communication along with exceptional customer service skills.
Basic calculations pertaining to discounts, days supply, and other mathematics as needed.
Understanding of infusion billing practices, prescription billing, or medical background preferred.
Detail oriented with ability to efficiently and effectively multi-task.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Proficient in use the use of internet navigation and research, as well as office technology, including, but not limited to email, electronic calendars, fax, and telephone.
Minimum Experience preferred:
1. Minimum one year experience obtaining pharmacy/medical prior authorizations preferred.
2. Minimum of two years working in a general office setting.
3. Must have excellent experience and knowledge of ICD-10; HCPCs and CPT
4. Familiar with medical terminology or willingness to learn.
