Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, encouraging the professional growth and development of a team of 6+ accounts receivable and collections staff.
- Manage and oversee accounts receivable and collections processes, ensuring timely invoicing, payment posting, and collections efforts. Maintain weekly status reports and lead monthly team meetings to track progress and performance.
- Provide weekly KPI reporting to senior management on revenue, receivables, and collections activity, highlighting trends and areas for improvement.
- Review and post significant or complex revenue transactions, including multi-year contracts and deferral of revenue in compliance with ASC 606, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Oversee the AR team in posting sales orders, invoices, and payments. This includes processing ACH and credit card payments via website and web portals, as well as daily cash receipt entry for checks, ACH, and credit card payments.
- Supervise the collections team in meeting key performance indicators (KPIs) and goals, such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), cash targets, and other collection metrics. Track and report on collections KPIs to senior management.
- Interact with various internal departments (e.g., Sales, Customer Service, Finance) to ensure the accuracy of invoicing, revenue reporting, and resolution of customer issues.
- Lead efforts to automate current processes, such as ACH recurring payments, order entry, invoice generation, lockbox cash applications, and other key functions to improve efficiency.
- Contribute to the monthly accounting close process by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and generating month-end reports.
- Develop and prepare ad hoc reports as necessary.
- Provide reporting and documentation for various company audits, ensuring timely and accurate compliance with audit requests.
- Perform other tasks as assigned to support accounting and finance objectives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of accounts receivable and/or revenue accounting experience.
- 3+ years in a management or supervisory role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt and demonstrate flexibility in a changing business environment.
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Proven ability to communicate confidently and effectively with senior management.
- Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address issues before they escalate.
