Newberry Tanks & Equipment is a leading steel tank fabricator serving the oil jobber, agriculture, industrial, and equipment contractors nationwide. We manufacture steel petroleum storage tanks, bulk oil dispensing tanks and distribute accessory equipment. The company was founded in 1927 in Memphis, Tennessee. As a fast-paced company that is expanding, we are looking for a strong candidate for the role of Accounts Receivable Specialist in our West Memphis office. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that the company receives timely payments, and maintains accurate financial records.
A successful candidate will efficiently and effectively:
- Review and process invoices for customers ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Monitor aging reports to identify overdue accounts and follow up with customers for payment
- Actively pursue collections on customer accounts
- Reconcile discrepancies between payments received and outstanding balances
- Assess creditworthiness of new clients and set credit limits
- Accurately post payments to customer accounts
- Investigate and resolve payment disputes or discrepancies
- Send monthly customer statements
- Maintain customer deposits and perform reconciliations with credit card account
- Manage tank registrations
- Maintain customer sales tax exemptions in Avalara
- File as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in accounts receivable or related role
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel)
- Sage 100 ERP software experience a plus
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
