The Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute provides the best scientific research, education and clinical care integrating conventional and complementary medicine and strives to transform healthcare through the practice of integrative health by conducting rigorous research, promoting evidence-informed treatment modalities, educating the public on well-being practices, providing individualized, patient-centered clinical care and providing services to the community that focus on obtaining optimal health.
Applies skills and experience as a seasoned acupuncturist to independently provide specialized acupuncture treatments. May also integrate and provide other aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
Qualifications:Required:
- Thorough knowledge of acupuncture techniques, skills, and procedures. Applies knowledge to assess, monitor, and treat patients.
- Knowledge of relevant UC policies and external regulations.
- Strong skills in patient education. Ability to break down complex concepts in an understandable way.
- Knowledge of data management and documentation methods used in acupuncture.
- Interpersonal skills to maintain professional relationships with peers, patients, multidisciplinary team members and management.
- Ability to teach/lead Tai Chi/Qi Gong groups and customize as needed
- Graduate of a school accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) and / or equivalent training in an approved acupuncture tutorial program / apprenticeship.
- Successful completion of a supervised clinical internship-training program approved by the State of California Acupuncture Board.
- Licensed Acupuncturist (LAc) in the State of California
- DAOM or equivalent
- 5 years of clinical acupuncture experience
Special Conditions:
- Must be willing to potentially work weekends.
