Ace Hardware - Full-Time Backroom Coordinator Position

Ace Hardware, your local hardware store, is looking for a Full-Time Backroom Coordinator to join our team. As a Backroom Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in handling all functions related to receiving, operating machinery, and maximizing sales potential. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Unload freight truck with forklift.
● Inspect all product for shortages, overages, damage, and quality.
● Examines contents and compares with records, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of
shipment.
● Reports any receiving discrepancies to the Receiving Clerk, Store Manager and/or Buyer
to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.
● Keeps careful invoice and packing slip documents and gives to Receiving Clerk/ Store
Manager to file.
● Works closely with the Inventory Coordinator and Receiving Clerk to coordinate product
movement or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
● Follows company procedures regarding defective product including the return or
discarding of said defective product properly.
● Pull all special orders utilizing Zebra guns and attach paperwork as needed.
● Notify customers when their items are ready or when orders are complete, based on their preferences.
● Delivers or routes products to appropriate departments or storage areas.
● Assemble any special orders that may need done prior to customer picking up and/or
any items for delivery to customers.
● Attends all applicable training and is certified in use of appropriate equipment (including
forklifts, pallet jacks, baler, etc.) needed for store or facility.
● General load outs of product for customers as well provide customer service on the
floor as needed.
● Maintain cleanliness of the outside yard as well as keeping the receiving warehouse area
clean and organized including backstock.
● Maintains courteous relationships with drivers and vendors.
● Follows and complies with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adheres
to safe work practices.
● Other related duties as assigned, which may include delivering product to customers.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
● High school diploma or equivalent with 1-2 years of receiving experience
● Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
● Basic computer knowledge and math skills
● Valid driver's license and forklift operation certification
