About the Job
OBXtek is staffing for an Acquisition Specialist, Journeyman - Program Acquisition Support (PAS) (CGK Contracting) for the United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) Acquisition Support Services contract to support Military Communication (MilComm) & Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) Directorate. This contract provides the MilComm & PNT Directorate with a broad range of acquisition capabilities to execute effective and responsive integrated program management of space-related research, development, production, operations and maintenance, and lifecycle acquisition activities. Position is contingent upon contract award.
This position interacts with Directorate leadership. The individual will provide support to Space Force customers in El Segundo, CA. Key duties associated with this position include:
- Developing, facilitating, updating and/or coordinating 3-letter and 4-letter level briefings, tasks, reports, media queries, public releases, and special projects.
- Respond to various tasks to include but not limited to data calls, document reviews, acquisition reporting, travel requests, media requests, and other mandatory reporting directed by Congress, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Secretary of the Air Force, Headquarters Air Force, Headquarters Space Force, Space Systems Command, and local entities.
- Review program documents for consistency with applicable military, federal, state, local, contractual, commercial, or international statutes, regulations, policies, publications, directives, instructions, executive orders, codes, requirements or standards and report findings to the Government.
- Effectively receive, document, generate, distribute, track and close tasks at the 2-letter and 3-letter levels to the maximum extent possible. Open, read, understand, and properly distribute tasks to the responsible 3-letter or 4-letter organizations, accordingly, supplying supporting references as available or closing tasks, when possible, prior to distribution. Coordinate with DAG personnel and track the status and report metrics for all tasks, action items, suspense, and responses at a minimum from receipt through closure with the originator.
- Schedule and distribute recurring tasks and program-related materials, review and evaluate tracking and tasking processes of the 3-letter and 4-letter organizations, track suspense, monitor status, and provide action item coordination, review accuracy, ensure timeliness, recommend changes, and provide quality control of presentations, briefings, and media relations. As necessary, the Contractor shall prepare Space Force memoranda, staff summary sheets, program office briefings, and other similar action officer duties.
- Review responses to all taskers at the 4-letter, 3-letter, and 2-letter levels and efficiently staff responses for Government approval, distribution, and closure. Assess, develop, evaluate, and consolidate responses for answering technical and programmatic inquiries by working closely with the appropriate Division representatives. Ensure responses are approved by the appropriate program office prior to submission to the PEO and release to the originator for closure.
- Provide substantive analysis of pertinent topics to support requirements for situational awareness and in-depth understanding of specific 3-letter and 4-letter issues. Coordinate research and analysis projects with the Government and other external or foreign agencies. Provide subject matter expertise with the development of strategic long-range planning for the MilComm & PNT Directorate.
- Coordinate actions, clarify responsibilities, create schedules, and task completions. The Contractor shall consolidate data, as necessary, and reviews to ensure accomplishment of objectives, timeliness, and acceptability. Provide advice and guidance for improvements and anticipate areas of concern to be managed by the Government. Be prepared to support a wide range of detailed studies, compilation and analysis of facts, development of plans, and extensive
- coordination with other staff activities for PEO approval.
- Maintain continuity of key acquisition documents supporting policy, program milestones, and strategy decisions. Ensure the PEO and 3-letter, and 4-letters are equipped with and understand the necessary background information to support participation in ceremonies and formal public appearances. Prepare note cards and staff papers for Government review prior to
- events and provide additional research, as required.
- Review, recommend, and implement upon Government approval administrative policies and procedures for the performance of these requirements. Review, compile, and coordinate all documentation for milestone or other major reviews by senior acquisition officials for the PEO.
- Research, draft, and edit articles, speeches, and testimony on the Directorate organization, missions, operations, and initiatives; analyze and recommend pertinent information; the most logical and effective use of the information; and the overall length and tone of the message based upon the objectives of the communication event and the audience. The Contractor shall coordinate with the Government to ensure consistency of messages for internal and external audiences.
- Review, coordinate, and process program information suitable for public release to industry, media, trade publications, international partners, and other program stakeholders. The Contractor shall not release the information without applicable Government 3-letter or 4-letter approval, DAG coordination, and potentially SSC/PA concurrence.
- Provide coordination for PEO organizations visits, coordinate between visitors and the PEO organizations, and ensure all documents required to facilitate the visit are properly completed and staffed in a timely manner and in accordance with MilComm & PNT Directorate, Air Force, Space Force, and DoD processes.
Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Salary Range: $110,000 - $185,000k/year
Qualifications:US Citizen and possession of a current Secret Clearance
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) in a related field, such as Management, Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Engineering, Statistics.
- 3 - 10 years of extensive, relevant experience working on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program performing all functional duties independently and overseeing personnel in the same career field.
- Excels in advising, improvising, optimizing, and making thorough recommendations to Government Senior Leaders
- Expertise using MS Office applications and DoD, Air Force, and/or Space Force tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in business desired
- APDP Level II or equivalent is desired.
