Must have a genuine interest in geriatric work and a willingness to work for the best interest of the facility. Have a positive, upbeat personality and work cooperatively with others.
Job Description: Assist with the planning and implementation of activities for our facility and our residents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work at direction of Activity Director and Executive Director.
- Help design programs to encourage socialization, provide entertainment, relaxation and fulfillment and improve daily living skills.
- Must be familiar with or become familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the field.
- Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
- This position requires an individual with strong communication skills and the ability to work without direct supervision.
- Must be well organized, efficient with their time and able to coordinate many activities.
- The employee may be requested to perform other duties or tasks that are not listed, but are within the competence and training of the individual.
Physical Demands:
- Stooping, bending, turning, stretching including pushing and pulling, lifting, standing and walking (portion of shift).
- Visual and audio acuity necessary to detect changes in resident condition.
- Must have patience, flexibility and tact in dealing with others.
- Must possess genuine concern for and ability to work with other adults.
- Works in office areas and throughout the facility and outdoors.
- Must be committed to providing exceptional Customer Service.
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Experience in activities preferred, but not required.
