**Position Overview:**
Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for enriching the lives of seniors? We are seeking an experienced Activities Director to join our team. The Activities Director will be responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, and directing all administrative and operational activities of our Activities Department.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field.
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or eligible for certification by a recognized accrediting body.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years, with one year in a therapeutic activities program.
- Strong understanding of Federal and State regulations regarding activities programs in Long Term Care facilities.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop, implement, and evaluate activities programs to meet the social, psychosocial, and therapeutic needs of residents.
- Coordinate individual and group activities including recreational, educational, cultural, and arts and crafts programs.
- Ensure activities are tailored to each resident's unique requirements and skills.
- Oversee transportation of residents to social activities programs inside and outside the facility.
- Establish and maintain a Resident Council, ensuring smooth operation and documentation.
- Perform administrative functions including staff orientation, policy development, and performance evaluations.
- Monitor the facility's volunteer program and supervise student practices.
- Treat all residents with dignity and respect, promoting and protecting residents' rights.
**Additional Responsibilities:**
- Adhere to facility policies and procedures, state/federal regulations, and guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality of protected health information.
- Report any allegations of abuse, neglect, or mistreatment of residents.
- Participate in life safety and emergency drills and trainings.
- Complete all assigned training and skills competency.
