Activity Assistant/Caregiver - FT - Franklin Companies

Franklin Park Alamo Heights has an opening for an activities assistant/caregiver. 

Full time: Monday - Friday

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:

• Have a commercial driver's License with passenger endorsement
• Have a clean driving record
• Enjoy providing or overseeing selected resident activities, such as movie night
• Have outstanding interpersonal skills; must be patient and able to work with residents with low vision, hearing loss, confusion, and other age-related changes
• Be able to work flexible hours Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends
• Prior experience working with older adults and driving a multi-passenger bus strongly preferred

DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Drive groups of residents on scheduled shopping trips and excursions in company-owned vehicles; assist residents during outings as needed
• Drive individual residents to personal appointments; record mileage and complete/submit billing documents
• Help residents—some using wheelchairs and walkers—to get into and out of vehicle; secure wheelchairs according to safety regulations
• Manage vehicle upkeep: scheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, and cleaning
• Track gas purchases and submit bills to business office
• Set up for, lead and/or assist with activities as assigned
• Purchase/pick up supplies and equipment, and make deliveries on behalf of the community
