About the Job
Montereau is looking to fill the position of Activity Coordinator for our Memory Care Neighborhood. The Activity Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing on-site activities and off-site excursions, seeking to build a sense of community while enriching the lives of our residents who reside in our memory care neighborhood. This position aims to meet the social, intellectual, physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of each resident by engaging them in meaningful and structured activities. The activity programs are used to enable our residents to function and maintain their dignity and fullest mental and physical capacity for as long as possible while enhancing their feelings of usefulness and encourage self-confident, self-respect, and empowerment. Additional job duties include keeping detailed records of activities to track participation, developing positive relationships with family members and fellow team members, brainstorming ideas for creative activities and participating in the development of the monthly activity calendars, and controlling activity costs.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN ACTIVITY COORDINATOR
As an Activity Coordinator at Montereau, you will plan and implement direct group and individual therapy services and work with residents in Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Long-Term Care to address their social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual well-being. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to provide wellness programs for our residents, and we welcome your creative ideas and aspirations for this program. We are looking for an enthusiastic professional with strong interdisciplinary skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
As an Activity Coordinator, you will enjoy interacting with and providing high-quality activities for our senior residents to meet their cognitive, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Our Activity Coordinator work closely with our residents, allowing you to create a special bond with them, offering a meaningful relationship to both the resident and you. During each shift, you will engage with residents through person-centered programs, collaborate with the Wellness team and residents on programs that will be provided on the activity calendar, and document on the programs that are provided to our residents.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A THERAPEUTIC RECREATION SPECIALIST.
- Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training is preferred.
- CPR certification is required.
- Valid state driver license is required.
- Ability to complete physical tasks typically performed in Therapeutic Recreation work.
- Dependable, organized, creative, flexible.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
