Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Acute Burn & Reconstruction
Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Acute Burn & Reconstruction team. This position is focused on surgical and clinical care for patients in our burn center, not aesthetic procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing postoperative care and working closely with plastic surgeons.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in surgical procedures related to acute burns and reconstruction.
- Independently manage postoperative care of patients, including pain management, incision care, drain care, and monitoring of postoperative results.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Provide wound care and manage patients' overall recovery process.
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records.
- Provide patient and family education regarding postoperative care and recovery.
Qualifications:
- Must be a licensed Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the state of California.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience assisting a plastic surgeon or working in a plastic surgery clinic.
- Experience in managing postoperative patients independently, including pain management, incision care, drain management, and monitoring.
- Wound care experience preferred but not required.
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
