Position Title: VITA Program Manager
Category: PRN - Night and weekend work necessary during tax season
Location: Hybrid - remote, in-office, and at community sites
Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Director of Impact and Engagement, the VITA Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and implementing the activities and functions of the financial assistance and VITA services including staff supervision, data management/reporting, and coordination of clients, volunteers and operational needs..
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent necessary
- At least one year coordinating volunteers
- At least 2 years of experience providing customer service in a community setting
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word and Excel); Previous experience with Adobe preferred
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and demonstrate ability to work with a wide range of constituents and diverse audiences
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with extremely sensitive information
- Use compassion and analytical skills to make informed decisions
- Must be a team player
- Must be process and detail oriented
- Previous experience managing a small budget and dispersing funds preferred
Job Responsibilities:
- Recruit, coach and supervise Site Coordinators for each tax season
- Manage all aspects of volunteer coordination for VITA program including recruitment, scheduling, training, scheduling, supervision, and recognition
- Serve as point of contact for IRS-SPEC partnership
- Complete applications or other materials needed to secure authorization to operate a VITA site
- Make orders for IRS issued printed materials and software
- Promote the program using social media, organization website, or other outlets to ensure community members are aware of the program
- Create schedule for client visits and use scheduling tools to manage client appointments
- Secure locations in the community for program sites
- Ensure sites have all needed supplies, materials, and equipment needed to operate
- Visit each site while operating to provide oversight and support
- Maintain accurate records and provide data management
- Create and prepare reports as needed or requested
- Be familiar with and utilize TaxSlayer software
- Inventory all materials and store appropriately at end of tax season
