The Department of Health Systems and Population Sciences at the newly established Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine is inviting applications for the position of non-tenure track, part-time Adjunct Faculty - Physicians, Patients, and Populations (PPP) Small Group Facilitator.

Job Summary:
This is a non-tenure track, Adjunct faculty position.
This position will be Part-Time.
There are 4 positions open for the Small Group Facilitator position.
Duties and Essential Job Functions:

- Attend virtual preparation sessions led by session instructors
-If unable to attend preparation session, watch recordings - Prepare for small group facilitation with 7-8 students
- Attend the session and execute lesson plan developed by instructor
- Allow students opportunities to demonstrate what they are learning and ensures all group members have a chance to contribute to the discussion and group learning
- Provide adequate direction without dominating the group
- Facilitate safe, effective discussions
- Encourage the group to critically evaluate ideas and to articulate their reasoning processes
- Strive for stimulating, enjoyable, and educationally useful experiences
- Begin and end sessions on time
- Create availability for student meetings
- Provide individual feedback
- Attend simulation sessions and/or view video encounters
- Evaluate students’ simulation performances
- Evaluate students’ documentations
- Grade PETA and OSCE documentation

Qualifications
:
Required Education and Experience:
• MD or DO degree (or equivalent)
• Evidence of effective teaching of learners in clinical and classroom settings
Preferred Education and Experience:
• Experience teaching students in small-group settings
• Experience developing medical school clinical courses
• Experience managing professionals in a complex organization
• Experience in management of multiple initiatives and multiple sites
• Experience with LCME and/or other accreditation processes
• Experience working with students from a variety of backgrounds
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Track record of teaching excellence, educational leadership, and organizational talent
• Experience in working with and developing faculty
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with and within teams
Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
• Current medical licensure is preferred but not required
