Admin Director of Perioperative Services at University Medical Center of El Paso

Job Summary
Administers, directs, plans, coordinates, monitors, promotes and evaluates all components of Perioperative Services.  Perioperative Services includes the Operating Room, Anesthesia, Ambulatory Surgery Unit, Sterile Processing and Post-Anesthesia Recovery Room to include initiatives related to the development and maintenance.  Provides administrative oversight for Sterile Processing. Collaborates with the appropriate Medical Directors, Clinical Chiefs, Medical Staff, and Senior Leadership in the hospital’s short and long term strategic planning efforts.  Responsible for patient care management, resource management, and fiscal management.  Ensures compliance with standards, policies and requirements of governmental and regulatory agencies.

Work Experience
Seven years progressive supervisory and/or management experience, with a strong background in Perioperative care.  Contract development/negotiation preferred.  Physician contracting and business plan development experience preferred. 

Licensure and Certification
Current license from Texas State Board of Nursing Examiners required.
Current CPR training program.
Attainment of the Nurse Executive Leadership or Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) required within 2 years of being in the position.

Education and Training
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. 
Master degree in Nursing, Business, or Healthcare Administration required.
