Job Summary
The Admin Financial Analyst works on areas related to accounting and reconciling.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully with or without reasonable accommodations to be qualified for the position. Golf Course:
Keeps the Financial Activity of the Golf Course on a weekly basis April-Oct. Prepares JE and do the deposits to get information from the Golf Course Software into Great Plains. Prepares Monthly reports for the department and reconciles Bank Statement.
Credit Cards:
Reconciles Port Washington State Bank and U S Bank monthly to agree to the GL. Prepares the Wire Transfers. Reports any fraudulent charges to the treasurer and the Credit Card Processor. Cancels the card that has been comprised and orders a new card. Works with the Relationship Manager at US Bank on any issues that arrive and also on the rebate information.
Fixed Assets:
Monitors Inventory working with Departments-Lasata Campus, Highway, Golf, Sheriff and Transit. Uses the Fixed Asset Software to record and retire the fixed assets. Prepares Monthly Depreciation expenses and posts to the GL and at Year-End balance to actual. Prepares JE to record data in Great Plains since they are two different software programs and prepares the note for the CAFR.
Insurance:
Works with the Insurance Carriers on maintaining the inventory and makes sure it is in line with what the County actually has. Reports Accidents for all Departments except Highway. Works with Ansay and Wisconsin County Mutual on issues as they arise.
1099’s:
Checks every W-9 when they come in to make sure the Vendor information is correct. In January has a list of all vendors coded 1099 and reviews to make sure they are correct. Uses the W2 Mate software to enter and prints the 1099 forms to mail and posted by Jan 31. Files with the IRS and State of Wisconsin.
CAFR:
Sends out debt letters and prepares parts of the Statistical section.
Miscellaneous:
Monthly – prepares Sales Tax and files with State. Quarterly prepares the check for Economic Development. Voids returned checks, posts receivables, scans JE and wires transfer into the GL, Highway A/P. Integrates Jury A/P into Great Plains.

Minimum Education Qualifications
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Associate degree with 2-3 years of experience or a recent college graduate with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements:
Governmental Accounting Training.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Qualifications

- Knowledge of financial principles, accounting theory, government management, and budget techniques. Knowledge of computer software and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of County’s committee structure, function, and financial reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of and thorough understanding of governmental or fund accounting.
- Ability to direct, prepare and analyze complex reports, financial statements, budgets and other materials.
- Ability to act as liaison between external auditors and County business managers.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
- Ability to adjust to constant changes in work processes as required by federal, state, or county legislation.
- Strong work prioritization and delegation skills.
- Skills in organization and multi-tasking.
- Detail oriented, with ability to visualize global implications.
- Ability to analyze problems, develop solutions, and prepare detailed report.
- Confidentiality.
