Administrative Assistant Accounts Payable - Byron Center, MI - Martin Transportation Systems

Martin Transportation Systems is a solid and stable automotive niche carrier with a success story of over 30 years. Since our one-truck beginning in 1978, we've grown to a fleet of over 800 trucks and employ over 1200 drivers, owner-operators and support staff. A dedication to technology and low-cost, high-quality transportation solutions, as well as the acquisition of six other carriers, have let us build a solid customer base that should catapult us into another 30 years of success! We are looking for a competent Administrative Assistant -  Accounts Payable  to undertake a variety of financial and non-financial tasks in order to help guarantee the company's revenues. You will handle the processing of incoming payments along with the issuing of necessary paperwork. This position is located in our headquarters in Byron Center, MI.  

This is an entry level position and we are willing to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintain a large number of vendor accounts while staying in compliance with company policies and procedures
• Accurately review, code, enter and process vendor invoices
• Prepare and perform check runs and electronic transfers
• Research and approve new vendors and create new vendor accounts
• Address and respond to vendor inquiries/issues
• Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
• Maintain vendor files

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in an Accounts Payables role a plus
• Strong Microsoft Office skills and a proficient with Microsoft Dynamics preferred
• Strong time management, organizational and analytical skills
• Possess strong attention to detail and trustworthiness
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all customers and vendors
