Job Summary: The Behavioral Health Administrative Assistant provides vital support to our behavioral health team by managing administrative tasks, coordinating patient care, and ensuring smooth operation of the office. This role requires a detail-oriented and organized individual with a strong understanding of behavioral health services and exceptional communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily administrative operations, including scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, and handling correspondence.
- Maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with billing and insurance verification, processing claims, and handling patient inquiries related to financial matters.
- Support the behavioral health team with data entry, report preparation, and preparation of materials for patient sessions.
- Handle phone calls and emails, providing information and addressing concerns from patients and healthcare providers.
- Ensure the office environment is welcoming and organized, including managing supplies and equipment.
- Coordinate with other departments and external organizations to facilitate patient referrals and follow-up care.
- Assist with organizing community outreach and educational events related to behavioral health.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, psychology, or related field preferred.
- 3 years of experience
- Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably within a behavioral health or healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of behavioral health services and terminology.
- Proficient in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, electronic health record systems).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced.
