Amani Public Charter School is located in Mount Vernon, NY which is 25 minutes from Midtown Manhattan. The school is walking distance from the Metro North train station and a short distance from the MTA 241st station.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of Amani Public Charter School. The ideal candidate will be professional, efficient, and committed to supporting our educational mission.

Responsibilities

• Manage the school's front office operations, serving as the first point of contact for students, families, and visitors
• Maintain accurate student records and school databases, including attendance records and enrollment information
• Process and organize important school documents, forms, and correspondence
• Coordinate daily communication between administration, teachers, students, and families
• Assist with scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and organizing school events
• Support administrative needs of school leadership and teaching staff
• Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
• Assist with ordering and maintaining office supplies and equipment
• Process incoming and outgoing mail and packages
• Support student recruitment and enrollment processes
• Assist with coordination of school activities and special events
• Maintain organized filing systems, both digital and physical
• Handle basic bookkeeping tasks and expense tracking as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 2 years of administrative experience, preferably in an educational setting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Experience with student information systems preferred
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Salary Range: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
