Administrative Assistant (Independent Contractor)
Reports to: Director of Strategic Planning and Government Programs
The Associated Talmud Torahs of Chicago is seeking a part-time administrative assistant to support the Government Programs department for 10 hours per week. This position is ideal for an organized individual who enjoys working in a collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities include performing accurate data entry, verification, and ensuring timely follow-ups on data collection efforts. The administrative assistant will also be responsible for creating clear work instructions to enhance operational efficiency. While event planning support—such as preparing agendas and tracking attendance—will be part of the role, it will constitute a smaller portion of the overall responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
· Data Management:
o Perform data entry and verification tasks with precision and attention to detail.
o Ensure timely follow-up on data collection efforts to meet departmental deadlines.
o Assist in organizing and maintaining departmental records and documentation.
o Create clear and comprehensive work instructions for various tasks and processes.
o Regularly update existing instructions to reflect any changes in procedures or best practices, ensuring they remain relevant and effective.
· Event Planning:
o Create and print agendas and handouts; ensure all resources are ready.
o Track attendance and collect and enter registration information.
o Handle ad hoc tasks as they arise.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a relevant role.
- Proficient in data entry and management, with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using office software and applications for data entry, documentation, and event planning.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work 10 hours per week as per the department's needs.
