JOB TITLE: Administrative Clerk II DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Recreation
SUMMARY OF FUNCTION
Provides clerical support to the Department. Collects fees and accurately accounts for all funds in cash drawer. Utilizes computer software to accurately complete various tasks associated with the functions of the Department. Provides telephone and over the counter customer service assistance.
REPORTS TO: Department Director but may receive direction from a Department Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL TASKS
- Prepare inter-office notices, bulletins and memoranda.
- Compile information and prepare payroll records and reports requiring a knowledge of program/departmental rules and regulations.
- Operate a personal computer for functions such as, but not limited to, appointment scheduling and follow-up, word processing and spreadsheets or data entry and retrieval.
- Handling of daily cash deposits, processing of refunds and other daily routine financial transactions like receiving and recording fees or other funds collected through the mail or over the counter.
- Efficiently organize and maintain filing systems, both manual and computerized.
- Perform bookkeeping and/or accounting for the department. Reconcile end of the day receipts.
- Confidently and efficiently resolve customer conflicts and complaints.
- Open and route incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail.
- Order and track departmental supplies and materials.
- Operation of copy machine, fax machine and organization of materials.
- Perform other clerical duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITES
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 20-pound loads.
- Ability to type 45 words per minute with an accuracy rate of 95%.
- Ability to assemble data and to prepare and maintain correspondence, records, and reports.
- Ability to make arithmetic calculations quickly and accurately.
- Ability to communicate with and work effectively with the public and other employees.
- Knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel and the ability to navigate through internet resources.
- Knowledge in BS&A and ActiveNet software preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree from an accredited high school, or GED.
- One year work experience in a related field preferred.

SALARY RANGE - This is a full-time position in a unionized environment with an hourly rate of $18.9283-$22.5806 per hour.
