This job is located in New Orleans, LA
The incumbent independently performs administrative and public utility regulatory duties for the LA Public Service Commission, District 3, New Orleans office. The incumbent is required to have knowledge of all facets and functions of the LA Public Service Commission. Performs work autonomously with minimal supervision from the District 3 Commissioner or Executive Assistant, exercising a high degree of independent judgment and initiative to determine appropriate action to take in non-routine matters. Maintains confidentiality in sensitive matters.
This position will be filled as a Job Appointment. In the event that funds become available for a permanent position, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
Commissioner Lewis:
Commissioner Davante Lewis represents the 3rd district which consists of 10 parishes: (Ascension*, Assumption*, East Baton Rouge*, Iberville*, Jefferson*, Orleans*, St. Charles*, St. James, St. John Baptist, West Baton Rouge*). Commissioner Lewis believes now is the time to rebuild our utility system for the future; he strongly believes we need to protect ratepayers, clean up our grid, and invest in new green jobs to ensure clean air, clean water, and affordable energy for all Louisianans.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Three years of experience in which clerical work was a major duty.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
Training in a business or clerical-related curriculum in a business school or technical institute will substitute for the required experience on the basis of six months of training for six months of experience for a maximum of one year of the required experience.
Completion of a business or clerical-related curriculum in a business school or technical institute will substitute for a maximum of one year of the required experience.
College training will substitute for the required experience on the basis of 15 semester hours for six months of experience.
NOTE:
Business or technical school training with less than completion will only be credited in six month increments. Similarly, college training will only be credited in 15 semester hour increments.
NOTE: Any college hours or degree must be from an accredited college or university.

Receives applications or other forms and reviews for compliance with department policies; works to resolve discrepancies; may make initial determinations regarding client's eligibility for department services.
