Meridian Healthcare is looking to hire an energetic, detail oriented full-time Administrative Medical Assistant to work in our Primary Care office.
This is a blended role, working both front office and on the floor.
The Administrative Medical Assistant is responsible for being the first point of contact as patients come into the office. The desired candidate will greet patients, collect their information, answer any questions, schedule appointments, and verify insurance information. Organized and efficient, the Administrative Medical Assistant also oversees and executes everyday administrative tasks to ensure that the medical office runs smoothly and successfully

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MEDICAL ASSISTANT
- Answer phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries
- Communicate with patients to set up and schedule optimal appointment times
- Gather and track medical information from patients
- Organize and input data into electronic health records
- Inquire and process patients' health insurance
- Support office with administrative and secretarial tasks
- Communicate with internal office team and providers to ensure patients are helped and everyday tasks are accomplished
- Understand and maintain HIPAA regulations
- Assists the physician as needed, including rooming clients and documenting in electronic health record.
- Charts results of all testing, communications, medication, and all relevant information regarding patient care.
- Assists in creating and maintaining patient files, charts, and follow-ups on an ongoing basis.
- Places phone calls to convey physician information for referral, i.e., specialist, verbal orders for prescriptions, pre-authorizations, and related communications.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MEDICAL ASSISTANT
Medical Assistant education and/or experience required. Electronic Medical Records experience a plus. Physician's office experience preferred. Must have good communication skills and be able to multi-task.
