About the Position
The Building Operations Manager (BOM) is responsible for supporting, implementing, and managing all non-academic operational aspects of the school building and school day. They will build on a student-centered environment that fosters relationships and promotes continual growth for students and staff.
The BOM will report to the COO and will also partner with the Lead Building Operations Manager, the Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) principal and staff, and the network administrative team. This is a 12-month administrative position.

Responsibilities
Supervise administrative and maintenance staff assigned to your building, such as:
- School Administrative Assistant / Front Desk
- Other administrative support staff
- Maintenance personnel
- Arrival
- Dismissal
- Ensuring adequate support for teacher breaks and absences
- Assisting HR with the onboarding all new staff
- Assigning daily support staff as needed
- Developing contingency plans for staff outages; securing substitute staff when necessary
- Participate in the hiring process for all school support positions
- Supporting the entry, accuracy and integrity of the student records and school data (i.e. Infinite Campus SIS and other systems used to capture and maintain information)
- Daily inspection of property to ensure safe and clean physical spaces
- Communication with cleaning vendor to ensure spaces are properly clean each morning
- Working with school leaders and all academic staff on establishing a culture of cleanliness (prepared environment)
- Ensure all inspections and maintenance regarding safety and compliance tasks are scheduled and completed with minimal disruption of the school day
- Establish, schedule, document, and enforce all school safety procedures
- Schedule Safety Drills: Fire, Tornado, Intruder, Earthquake, and other.
- Create safe entry and exit procedures for:
- Staff
- Guests and volunteers
- Vendors (package delivery, etc.)
Serve as Primary contact for any facility-related technical issues with computers, HVAC, PA, alarms, key fobs, WIFI, etc.
Oversight and Support
- Assist in the entry and maintenance of the student records and school data
- Manage planning and execution of school special events in the school building (s)(i.e. staff professional development, report card night, family/parent events, etc.)
- Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- At least 3 – 5 years of overall professional experience; ideally 2 an administrative/ support role within a public school
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Proven ability to supervise, schedule and evaluate staff
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Google Workplace – especially calendar, AND Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience working with diverse populations, with direct knowledge of and commitment to anti-bias and antiracism practices
- Being child-centered, flexible, and willing to do whatever it takes for our students
- An aptitude for creating a thoughtful and inspiring team culture
- Demonstrated resourcefulness and good judgment
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining vigilant attention to details
This position offers a salary ranging from $48,000.00 to $55,000.00 based on level of education and years of relevant experience.
