Valparaiso University seeks a dynamic professional to craft compelling stories that drive enrollment growth. This strategic role will develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital (email), print, and social media channels. Reporting to the executive director of marketing, the admission communications manager is a strategic collaborator and skilled writer responsible for crafting and implementing integrated marketing and communications content that drives enrollment growth. This role will be responsible for various projects focused on developing compelling marketing content for digital communications in Slate CRM. The ideal candidate will excel at building strong relationships and working closely with team members and across departments to achieve shared goals. They will possess exceptional writing and editing skills to create clear, engaging, and persuasive content. This individual will be adept at leveraging online platforms to develop dynamic communication content that resonates with target audiences. A deep understanding of communication trends and technologies and a strong understanding of the enrollment process are essential for success in this role.
Major Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute compelling communication plans that effectively target diverse audiences with differentiated messaging across multiple channels (email, letters, publications, postcards, text messages).
- Craft and manage engaging written content for various communication platforms, ensuring alignment with overall marketing and enrollment goals.
- Oversee the creation and launch of communications, including writing, editing, and proofreading content to maintain consistent messaging and brand voice.
- Optimize CRM capabilities to streamline the creation of targeted and personalized written communications.
- Analyze communication performance through key metrics and create comprehensive reports on campaign effectiveness.
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of communication plans by providing clear written instructions and guidelines.
- Participate in regular stakeholder meetings to gather feedback, assess campaign performance, and develop future communication strategies.
- Develop and produce high-quality, persuasive written content tailored to diverse audiences and platforms, including print, digital, and social media.
- Craft compelling narratives and critical messaging to effectively communicate the university's value proposition and drive enrollment.
- Measure content performance and make data-driven recommendations to improve engagement and conversion rates.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum three years of experience developing and executing compelling written content for multi-channel marketing communication plans.
- Substantial project and time management skills focusing on delivering high-quality content within deadlines.
- Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading abilities, and a keen eye for detail.
- Demonstrated experience creating engaging content for various platforms, including websites, social media, and print materials.
- Strong analytical skills to measure content performance and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with Admission, Student Life, and in-house and contract design and marketing teams to create impactful content.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and CRM systems (Technolutions Slate).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Other Qualifications:
- Strong experience in website content management systems (CMS).
- Demonstrated ability to create, execute, and optimize multi-channel marketing communication plans within CRM platforms, particularly Slate or similar systems.
- In-depth knowledge of CRM functionalities and the ability to leverage data for targeted marketing campaigns and audience segmentation.
- Data analysis and reporting proficiency to measure campaign effectiveness and inform strategic decisions.
- Experience with A/B testing and conversion rate optimization for website and email campaigns.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite for design and content creation.
Salary Range:
- $46,000 - $50,000 annually based on skill level and years of experience.
