Hammond School is seeking a driven, customer-focused individual to serve as Admission Counselor. This full-time exempt position is responsible for communicating Hammond's value proposition and working to execute Hammond's strategic plan to reach the school's enrollment goals. The counselor supports the director in all aspects of enrollment management: identifying, recruiting, assessing, enrolling and retaining mission-appropriate Hammond students.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Works with a team of two to support the admission process from inquiry to enrollment. Conducts one on one family tours, arranges student visits, and guides families through the admission process
- Reviews and interprets student admission data including transcripts, standardized test scores, writing samples, teacher recommendations and teacher feedback to inform admission decisions and communicates these decisions with families
- Collaborates with colleagues across campus including faculty, division heads, the business office, operations and the head of school to ensure a seamless experience for families. Responsible for working with the team to build strategy and culture to retain mission-appropriate students
- Interprets year over year admission statistics to help identify trends, project enrollment and drive admission strategy
- Participates in the life of the school, supporting students and building relationships with families
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience in education and/or admissions is preferred
- Ability to analyze and interpret data
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and verbal and written communication skills
- Strong sense of professionalism and confidentiality
- Proficiency with computers (Blackbaud Experience is a plus)
- Sales and marketing skills
- A customer service mindset
