Position Description:
The Admission's Coordinator is CELOP's first-line admissions position based at the front desk who communicates directly with students, inquiries, and applicants and manages related admissions and application documents with the goal of providing a superior customer service experience and increasing CELOP's enrollment. Reporting to the Admissions Manager, the Admissions Coordinator is familiar with Admissions systems and tools and utilizes them to serve students with attention to detail and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- For prospective and applying students, process inquiries (face-to-face walk-ins, email and web, telephone) and applications with a focus on professional, courteous service and generating enrollment results. Respond to inquiries and provide prospective students with information on CELOP programs and the application process. Communicate with applicants to facilitate their completion of incomplete submissions. Assist students with basic technical issues and coordinate with Global Programs Technology and Support staff to assist students, as needed (40%).
- For attending students, provide support for needs and questions related to charges and payment, health insurance, housing, compliance, etc. With guidance from the Admissions Manager, obtain support from relevant Boston University departments such as Housing, Student Accounting Services, and Student Health Services, as needed (35%).
- Support the Admissions Manager on other admissions tasks such as check-ins, immunization clinics, continuing student re-enrollment, and other tasks, as needed (15%).
- Maintain student files and documents in internal databases and SharePoint websites (10%).
Required Skills
Required Qualifications, Skills, Abilities:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2 to 3 years of professional experience in fast paced operational environment including at least 1 year of work in student admissions.
- Superb organizational and prioritization skills, including the ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
- Ability to produce, present, and analyze statistical reports.
- Strong customer service orientation and related skills.
- Excellent communication skills including verbal and written communication.
- Highly developed cross-cultural communication skills and self-awareness and the ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds, including those who speak English as a second language.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI and related software.
