Data Conversion Specialist
Job Description
As part of the Environmental Data Management Team, you will work with environmental scientists and database developers to assemble, convert and format scientific data tables from published documents into electronic form as Excel spreadsheets for loading into a database by others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
" Transcribe data tables from pdf and other formats into Excel spreadsheets.
" Utilize Excel, Adobe, and Microsoft Office to convert, format, edit and assemble data tables.
" Perform data entry when needed.
" Coordinate with quality assurance staff for their review of converted and formatted data spreadsheets.
" Document data conversion activities in tracking logs.
" Perform other duties and responsibilities related to the position, as necessary and assigned.
Requirements
" Excellent attention to detail.
" Very comfortable with Microsoft Excel, not only with data entry but also with formatting spreadsheets and using basic formulas.
" Proficient in Microsoft Office.
" Clear and effective written and verbal communication and good interpersonal skills.
