Overview
POSITION SUMMARY: According to professional standards of care, performs a variety of advanced nursing / physician assistant functions. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients seeking weight management support, including medical history, physical examinations, and relevant diagnostic studies.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices, incorporating nutrition, exercise, behavioral modifications, and pharmacotherapy as appropriate.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Educate patients and families on weight management strategies, lifestyle modifications, and the importance of maintaining a healthy weight.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including dietitians, psychologists, and other medical professionals, to provide holistic care to patients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.
- Participate in outreach programs to promote awareness about obesity and weight management resources in the community.
- Stay informed on the latest research and advancements in weight management and obesity care.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed to provide Advanced Practice Nurse Services or Physician Assistant Services Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and State of Illinois for prescribing of narcotics PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
