Responsibilities

Ascension Saint Agnes looking for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for our Cardiology Department.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Saint Agnesto provide medical services to patients.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under the supervision
of a physician.

• Cardiology consults and follow-ups
• Supervising stress tests
• Evaluating patients before and after cardiac procedures
• Work alongside internal medicine residents and other APPs on the cardiology consult service with the cardiology attending
• Obtain patient history and perform assessment.
• Order, perform and interpret diagnostic procedures.
• Provide and document direct treatment and management of health conditions.
• Provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
• Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Required Credential(s):

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office
• Physician Assistant credentialed from the Maryland Board of Physicians obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office

Preferred Credential(s):

• Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).Verified by local Credentialing Office
• Orthopedic Physician Assistant. Verified by local Credentialing Office

Education:

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience:

• 1 year of experience preferred.

Additional Preferences

The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years of cardiology experience post-graduation, thorough documentation skills, great work ethic and be able to work autonomously while being connected regularly with non-invasive cardiologists and advanced practice providers
