Responsibilities

The Pediatric Critical Care Medicine group at Peyton Manning Childrens Hospital is seeking an advanced practice provider (APP - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our growing PICU.

The components of the job include:

• clinical practice
• professional development
• quality improvement and education

The APP provides comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and management, acute resuscitation, bedside procedures, critical care consultations, and support and education of the multidisciplinary team and patient families. A mix of day and night shifts is provided by all members of the group.

Our PICU is soon to be growing to 22 beds and is covered 24/7 by our provider team of PICU physician and APP. We care for children with the full spectrum of medical and surgical conditions. We are a level 1 pediatric trauma program and an active ECMO program. A growing pediatric cardiovascular surgery service will provide opportunity for professional development in pediatric CICU care.

Peyton Manning Childrens Hospital at St. Vincent is part of Indianas largest not-for-profit health system with 22 ministries and over 3,000 physicians. Features include: An attached tertiary care pediatric hospital with 40 private inpatient beds and 8 short stay beds, staffed in-house 24/7 by our Pediatric Hospitalist group; a 23-bed PICU staffed 24/7 by Pediatric Intensivists; a 17-bed Pediatric Emergency department staffed 24/7 by Pediatric Emergency physicians; and Indianas largest Level IV NICU with 96 beds staffed 24/7 by Neonatologists.

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Required Credential(s):

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Nurse Practitioner specializing in Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following required:
  
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• Master's degree of Nursing required.
