Adverse Subrogation Supervisor
Are you ready to lead a dynamic team in the world of auto recovery operations? We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Adverse Subrogation Supervisor to join our team. This leadership role is critical in maximizing our recovery efforts and ensuring quality claim outcomes.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Management
- Provide leadership for the auto adverse subrogation operation, fostering a culture of quality PD claim outcomes and teamwork through effective leadership.
- Objectively assess and manage team performance, overseeing the annual performance review process and preparing monthly reports of results, activities, and plans.
- Data-Driven Decision Making
- Apply strong data-driven decision-making skills to maximize team efforts in reviewing inbound Subrogation demands, to ensure we appropriately pay for damages owed.
- Continuously analyze results and make recommendations for improvement, developing and adhering to annual budgets.
- Claim Analysis and Settlement
- Responsible for analyzing investigations to make liability assessments, including the review and analysis of first and third-party statements, witnesses, scene photos, investigating officers, and other relevant parties.
- Evaluate and adjust reserves as necessary, negotiate and settle claims within individual authority, and maintain an effective follow-up system on pending files.
- Act as an intermediary between the company, preferred vendors, and customers, resolving all disputes that may arise.
- Compliance and Internal Controls
- Ensure that internal controls are adhered to and that privacy guidelines, laws, and regulations pertaining to claims handling are followed.
- Collaboration and Relationship Management
- Manage external relationships with other Plymouth Rock companies, agents, and vendors.
- Partner with all levels of the organization to drive a culture of quality claim outcomes.
- Arbitration and Settlement Optimization
- Ability to “set up” cases in the Adverse Stream system and maintain active, current diary management.
- Respond to/write arbitration contentions and be willing to become certified as an Arbitrator with Arbitration Forums.
- Analyze investigations and “scrub” adverse carrier “proofs” to secure the best possible settlement, working with our appraisal staff or Hyper Quest as needed.
Qualifications and Education
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or a combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 to 5+ years of handling auto comparative negligence claims.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- Skills and Certifications
- Working knowledge of the inter-company arbitration process is a plus.
- Arbitration Forums certification is a plus.
- Ability to obtain State Licenses when requested.
- Strong customer service, organizational, verbal, and written skills.
- Proficient in computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Pursuing an insurance designation is a plus but not mandatory.
