Summary of the Role:
As an Aerospace Application Engineer (AE) at Trelleborg, you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise to our customers in the aerospace industry. Our aerospace group at Trelleborg provides customers with innovative polymer solutions for applications ranging from airframe & engine to interiors. In this role, you will work with customers to understand their technical needs and provide solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams such as R&D, manufacturing, and sales to ensure customer satisfaction. This role requires a strong background in engineering and a passion for problem-solving.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Partner with customers to understand their intermediate technical needs and provide solutions
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for customers
- Complete intermediate preliminary design reviews for new business opportunities
- Complete intermediate critical design reviews for new product development
- Create and maintain engineering documentation (models, drawings, and procedures)
- Support the sales team by providing technical information and product demonstrations
- Process engineering change requests internally and externally
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction (e.g., R&D, manufacturing, sales)
- Engineering approver for engineering documentation reviews
- Partner with 3rd party suppliers as needed to support product gaps
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical discipline
- 3 years of experience in an engineering role, preferably in a customer-facing role
- with a Master's degree counting as 2 years of experience
- 2 years’ experience with CAD and engineering software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, or NX)
- 2 years’ experience in product design, including experience with complex surfaces, assemblies, and kinematics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

Travel:
- 20% domestic and international
