Summary of the Role:
The Project Manager will support the Aerospace Airframe segment by managing customer projects and completing technical requirements from start to finish. The Project Manager (PM) role is necessary to support TSS target growth segment of aerospace, specifically within airframe customers and applications where projects have a significant degree of requirements. The job requires the ability to manage and lead project teams both directly and indirectly, and effectively communicate commercial and technical concepts with customers. In addition, the appropriate candidate must be able to self-manage project tasks and deliverables, be familiar with risk mitigation, and able to travel in support of projects.
The PM position will manage and coordinate multiple moderately complex customer projects at a time, pushing progress of all tasks to completion per the schedule. The PM will also be expected to perform postmortem reviews of projects, documenting lessons learned and proposing improvements to the PM process and standard practices used by the project management team.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
This role will be responsible for several activities. These activities include but are not limited to:
- Manage multiple projects of moderate complexity by following TSS AHA Airframe Project Management Process and AS9100 requirements
- Development, coordinate and/or manage customer requests (RFI, RFQ, Q&A) including creation of quotations or proposals
- Assess and mitigate risks using various project management tools and internally developed tools
- Understand customer requirements, applications, products, manufacturing process to complete project feasibility review
- Coordinate technical and commercial reviews as needed to ensure project success
- Ensure quality and delivery requirements are captured, communicated, and completed
- Support factories as needed to fulfill project deliverables
- Design, communicate, and implement an operational plan for completing a project
- Monitor progress and performance against the project plan
- Resolve operational problems to minimize delays
- Identify necessary resources to support the project plan
- Develop and maintain schedules, ensuring that actions and completed and targets met
- Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team
Education and Experience:
- Preferred 5 years, minimum 3 years’ experience in a corporate engineering setting required
- Bachelors degree or additional 4+ years of relevant experience required; engineering or other relevant technical degree strongly preferred
- Minimum 2 years of project management experience--PMP or equivalent certification ideal
- Working knowledge and proven experience using AutoCAD, Solidworks or other 3D software strongly preferred.
- Aerospace industry experience preferred.

- 25% long term
